The fundamental question seems to be
simply
“Does Government have the right/duty to impose vaccinations for dangerous disease?”
I lack the intellect to present a meaningful answer.
Nor would I know whether to cut the baby in half . . .
But with regard to the vaccine question I will note that universal immunization may be the salvation of humanity — and that universal freedom to decline the vaccination may result in massive die-offs, and possibly the extinction of our species.
The logical analysis seems to revolve around this:
Which is the greater risk — taking the vaccine to acquire immunity, or refusing the inoculation and risking a fatal infection?
And if refusal by a significant percentage of society threatens an overwhelming scourge of fatal infection, does SOCIETY have the right to require compliance?
To quote Alfred P Dooittle:
“I put it to ya … an' I leave it to ya.”
from “My Fair Lady”
